Treasurer

Helps the Board fulfill its financial oversight responsibilities and supports TVBC in developing strong, transparent, and sustainable financial practices as the organization grows.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide financial oversight on behalf of the Board

  • Review budgets, financial statements, cash flow, and reports

  • Present understandable financial updates to the Board

  • Help oversee the annual budgeting process

  • Monitor financial policies, procedures, and internal controls

  • Support compliance with nonprofit financial and reporting requirements

Commitment

  • Term: 2-3 years, renewable

  • Time: 3-5 hours per month

  • ​Meetings: 4-5 per year, in person

  • Give/Get: $1,000 per year

*A CPA designation and prior board experience are welcome, but not required.

Secretary

Helps ensure strong Board governance, accurate organizational records, and continuity in Board decision-making.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate minutes of Board meetings

  • Document votes, resolutions, and significant governance decisions

  • Maintain official Board and governance records

  • Ensure meeting notices and materials are distributed appropriately

  • Track Board terms, officer appointments, and governance requirements

  • Maintain bylaws, policies, and conflict-of-interest disclosures

Advocate

Serve as an ambassador for TVBC and help expand awareness of our mission and work.

Attend meetings, review materials in advance, contribute thoughtfully, and follow through.

Support sustainability

Participate in fundraising, relationship-building, and partnership development.

Advise

Bring professional expertise, lived experience, community knowledge, and strategic thinking.

Uphold trust

Maintain confidentiality, disclose conflicts of interest, and uphold fiduciary responsibilities.
